Update as of 8/9/10 -
Please continue to pray for Micah Andrews. They are not attempting to do surgery until Wednesday. They still need his readings stabilized before the surgery.
********Very Important Information: Please Read*********
They wanted to thank all of you who have come to be a support at the hospital. It has been so encouraging to them but because visits complicate Micah's condition the family is asking that no one visits until further notice. Instead they ask that you concentrate on prayer.
Micah is definitely becoming more and more alert, which is encouraging, but at the same time not something they want at this stage. They have to keep sedating him with heavy duty meds to keep him from moving and too much brain activity. His ICP (the reading for brain pressure) remains unstable/high. Please pray specifically for that number to come down and to stabilize.
Pray for them that they were in the car accident and Micah is in ICU with a respirator as a precaution and a drainage tube on his brain for fluid. Heather has some injuries but I don't know how bad she is in but she texted me at 12am midnight. Elizabeth was in the accident but she was not in the harm way but lets pray for her too. We know that God is willing heal them when we pray for them thru Jesus. I will be going to the hospital and visit them with my wife Jenny tomorrow morning will give more news after we get back from the hospital. Let's keep our thought and prayer for them and the other who is on the prayer list. Let's bring them home.
UPDATE as of 8/7/10: Micah's halo was successfully installed, so now his head and neck are stable and well protected. His vitals are stable and the swelling in his brain is in a safe range now. Today is all about waiting and watching. Jon asks that we worship God for this improvement, and continue to pray.
UPDATE as of 8/8/10: Micah did really well yesterday, the pressure in his head is stable so the doctors were able to reduce his sedation. He actually regained conciseness for a short time, which was very encouraging for the Andrews. Doctor's said Micah's arms wouldn't work, but they do!! Please keep praying for him and his family

| 2010-07-01 | Healing
Hi, I have been sick with a double ear infection since early April 2010. I am in constant pain and my hearing is affected. I have had tubes put in my ears, seen two ear, nose, and throat doctors, been on 6 different medications, taken probiotics, tried to follow a special diet, etc, and I am still sick. Last week I had C.T. scan that shows there is something going on. If not treated it could cause permenant damage and hearing loss. The ear, nose, and throat doctor said the condition is rare and he Does Not know how to treat it. He referred me to a doctor that only specializes in ears. ( I will see him tomorrow) I am susposed to return to work on July 20, and my doctor said I will not be able to work until it is healed. This would be the third year in a row that I have gotten so sick that I had to take a medical leave of absence. Two years ago it was the swine flu, the end of the last school year (April 2010) this ear infection, and the beginning of this school year (July 20,2010) the same ear infection. I am fighting depression and a sense of hopelessness. Please pray for: Rapid complete and total healing. (way before I have to return to work on July 20,2010) Relief of pain while I am healing Complete restoration of hearing Wisdom and guiedance for the doctors Renewed faith and trust in God, and a lifting of the feeling of depression and hopelessness concerning my health. If you know others that can pray would you please forward this to them or call them and ask for prayers for all this? Thank you for your love and prayers. |
